Frequently Asked Questions about Biotheism

Do I have to believe anything to be a Biotheist?
No. Biotheism isn’t a belief system in the traditional sense. It’s a way of paying attention—to life, to systems, to emergence. You don’t have to believe in gods (biological or otherwise). You just need to be curious about what life is and how we might live more coherently within it.

Are there leaders or founders?
No. Biotheism is decentralised by design. There’s no guru, prophet, or central doctrine. Ideas emerge, evolve, and circulate. You're free to contribute, challenge, or reimagine them. Leadership is fluid, shared, and contextual—just like in healthy ecosystems.

Is anyone making money from this?
No. Biotheism explicitly rejects profit as a motive for its spread. It’s an open-source philosophy. It exists to explore and support—not to monetise. There are no memberships, merchandise, or monetised belief packages. If something looks like a grift, it’s not Biotheism.

Is this just another belief system in disguise?
It might look like one, but the difference is structural. Biotheism is not prescriptive—it doesn’t tell you what to believe. It invites inquiry, reflection, and ethical action based on observable principles of life. If anything, it’s an un-belief system.

Do Biotheists believe in God?
Some do. Some don’t. Some redefine “god” as an emergent property of complexity. Biotheism makes space for different interpretations, so long as they’re grounded in respect for life and a commitment to thoughtful engagement with reality.

Is this a religion?
No. There are no temples, no doctrines, no rituals (unless you invent your own). Biotheism borrows the ethical seriousness of religion without the metaphysical baggage. It’s closer to a worldview—or a practice—than a faith.

Is it anti-religious?
Not at all. Many Biotheists have spiritual backgrounds. Biotheism respects traditional religions as cultural responses to complexity. It simply offers another way to explore meaning—one rooted in biology rather than mythology.

Can I be a member?
If you’re asking questions like these, you already are.

Skeptic’s Corner

For the raised eyebrows and thoughtful frowns.

Is this just spiritual woo dressed up in science?
Fair question. But no. Biotheism begins with biology, not belief. It’s not about crystals or cosmic downloads. It’s about systems, emergence, feedback, and the wild intelligence of life itself.

Isn’t this just atheism with extra steps?
Not quite. Atheism says “no gods.” Biotheism says, “Maybe gods—but let’s talk about how they might emerge from complex systems.” It’s not rejection or worship—it’s curiosity.

Are you trying to sneak in religion through the back door?
We left the back door open on purpose—for ideas, not dogma. Biotheism has no saints, no rules, no conversion. Just questions. Lots of questions.

Is someone getting rich off this?
No. Biotheism is proudly unprofitable. No tithes, no book bundles, no NFT gods. If someone’s selling you salvation, it’s not us.

Who’s in charge here?
No one. And that’s kind of the point. Biotheism is decentralised. Ideas evolve, but authority doesn’t consolidate. It’s an ecosystem, not a hierarchy.

What if I think this is all nonsense?
Excellent. Keep thinking. Disagreement is part of the process. Biotheism isn’t here to convince you—it’s here to provoke useful questions.
